The OSG 4110000111 is a helical flute thread mill designed to cut M6x1 metric internal threads in a single helical interpolation pass. Built from solid carbide and finished with OSG EXO coating, this tool delivers wear resistance and thermal stability in demanding materials. The cutting diameter is 4.50 mm (0.1772 inches), the length of cut is 10.00 mm (0.3937 inches), and the overall length is 60.00 mm (approximately 2.362 inches). With three right-hand flutes and a 6.00 mm shank diameter, it fits standard ER-style collet chucks and is sized for CNC machining centers running helical interpolation cycles. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and production CNC operators are the primary users.
This thread mill is suited for threading M6x1 holes in production and job-shop environments where a single tool must handle threading in materials such as aluminum, steel, stainless, and titanium. Because the tool diameter is smaller than the thread nominal diameter, it can thread blind holes, through holes, and thin-walled features with reduced risk of breakage compared to taps. It is well suited for low-to-moderate volume runs where thread quality and tool life consistency are priorities. Coolant-through is not supported on this model, so flood or mist external coolant is recommended.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers capable of helical interpolation, compatible with standard 6.00 mm ER collet chucks or hydraulic toolholders. Cuts M6x1 metric threads per standard metric thread specifications.
Thread milling requires a CNC control with helical interpolation capability — verify G-code support before programming. Secure the shank in a balanced, runout-minimized toolholder; excessive runout will degrade thread quality and shorten tool life. Power down the spindle and confirm zero-speed before loading or unloading the tool from the holder. Follow the tool manufacturer feed and speed recommendations for the specific workpiece material; do not exceed rated parameters to compensate for worn cutting edges.
