The OSG 404-7087 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations across a wide range of metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.7087-inch (18 mm) mill diameter and a 1.4961-inch (38 mm) length of cut, this tool delivers consistent material removal in demanding cutting environments. The four-flute spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and stable cutting performance. Manufactured from micrograin carbide, the 404-7087 maintains edge integrity under high-speed and high-feed conditions. This end mill ships uncoated and is center-cutting capable, making it suitable for plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral milling.
The 404-7087 is intended for use on CNC machining centers and manual mills in job shop, production, and toolroom environments. Its right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration suits standard spindle setups. The 18 mm shank diameter matches the 18 mm cutter diameter, allowing direct collet or end mill holder mounting without a reducer. This tool is well suited for slotting, profiling, and pocketing operations in steel, aluminum, and similar workpiece materials where a general-purpose uncoated carbide end mill is appropriate.
Designed as an OEM-style general-purpose end mill for use in standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, or Weldon-shank holders sized for an 18 mm shank diameter on CNC or manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing any cutting tool. Seat the shank to the minimum recommended insertion depth specified by the toolholder manufacturer and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning cuts. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer's rated speed and feed limits for this cutter diameter.
