The OSG 404-2756-BN is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations across a broad range of workpiece materials. Built on OSG's 404BN series, this single-end tool features a 7.00 mm cutting diameter, a 4-flute spiral geometry, and a 30-degree medium helix angle. The micrograin carbide substrate delivers the hardness and edge retention needed for both roughing and finishing passes. At 64.00 mm overall length with a 19.00 mm length of cut and an 8.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank, it fits standard collet and end mill holders used in CNC machining centers and manual mills. The bright, uncoated finish is well suited for shops that prefer to apply their own coatings or for applications where coating interactions with the workpiece material are a concern.
This end mill is rated for use on a wide range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It is a standard-length tool without extended reach or coolant-through capability, making it appropriate for conventional open-pocket, slot, and contour milling operations in general machining environments. Installation and tool changes should be performed with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked or e-stop state. Seat the 8.00 mm shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention nut to the holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout after clamping before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and degrades surface finish. This tool is intended for use by qualified machinists familiar with speeds, feeds, and depth-of-cut parameters appropriate to the workpiece material.
