The OSG 403-1875 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in a wide range of metalworking and machining applications. With a 3/16-inch cutting diameter and a 5/8-inch length of cut, this tool removes material cleanly and accurately in slots, pockets, and profile cuts. The three-flute geometry balances chip evacuation with rigidity, making it effective in both ferrous and non-ferrous materials. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action and reduces chatter. Manufactured from micrograin solid carbide, the tool holds a sharp edge longer than high-speed steel alternatives. It is installed and used by machinists and CNC operators in job shops, production facilities, and tool rooms.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose milling on vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills where a 3/16-inch shank diameter collet or chuck is available. The uncoated finish makes it a cost-effective choice for aluminum, brass, copper, and similar non-ferrous materials, as well as light-duty cuts in mild steel. The regular-length configuration and 2-inch overall length keep the tool stiff enough to minimize deflection during full-depth slotting or side milling passes. Centercutting capability allows the tool to plunge directly into the workpiece without pre-drilling.
Designed as a standard 3/16-inch shank square end mill compatible with any collet, end mill holder, or chuck system accepting a 3/16-inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Secure the shank fully within the collet or holder to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the toolholder manufacturer to prevent pullout under load. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before use and replace the tool if any edge defects are found.
