The OSG 403-0938 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of metalworking and machining applications. With a 3/32 inch (0.0938 inch) cutting diameter, a 5/16 inch length of cut, and a 1/8 inch shank diameter, this tool is built for tight-tolerance work in small-bore and detailed feature milling. The three-flute geometry with a 30-degree right-hand spiral helix balances chip evacuation and surface finish. Manufactured from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers consistent edge integrity and dimensional stability under cutting load. The uncoated finish makes it suitable for applications where coating compatibility or cost is a factor. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers and end users of this tool.
This end mill fits residential and commercial machine shop environments, tool-and-die operations, and production CNC milling setups. Its regular-length profile and centercutting capability allow it to be used for plunge entry as well as side milling and slotting. The 1-1/2 inch overall length keeps deflection low when working with small-diameter features. It is appropriate for use in materials where micrograin carbide provides a performance advantage, including hardened steels, stainless alloys, and non-ferrous metals. The Series 403 designation places it within OSG's standard square end mill lineup.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide square end mill for standard 1/8 inch collet or end mill holder setups in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator using a compatible collet or end mill holder sized for the 1/8 inch shank diameter. Ensure the spindle and tool holding system are rated for the cutting speeds appropriate to solid carbide tooling before use. Confirm runout at the tool tip prior to the first cut to protect edge life and part accuracy. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when mounting or removing cutting tools.
