The OSG 402-031211 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in tight tolerances and small-feature applications. With a 0.0313 inch (1/32 inch) cutting diameter and a 1/8 inch length of cut, this tool is built for micro-slot milling, contouring, and detail work in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The TiAlN coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting speeds. A 30-degree spiral helix promotes efficient chip evacuation while reducing cutting forces. This end mill is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators running mill centers in production or precision job shop environments.
The 402-031211 is suited for small-diameter milling operations requiring tight positional accuracy. Its 1/8 inch shank fits standard collets on CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles. With a 1-1/2 inch overall length and regular length classification, it provides adequate reach without sacrificing rigidity. Centercutting geometry allows plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral milling. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration follow standard milling conventions. This tool works in aluminum, steel, stainless, and hardened materials where fine detail and surface finish are priorities.
Designed as a standard 1/8 inch shank square end mill compatible with CNC machining centers, knee mills, and high-speed spindles equipped with ER or similar collet systems accepting 1/8 inch shank tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Secure the shank to the full recommended collet engagement depth — do not extend beyond the rated length of cut to avoid deflection or breakage at this diameter. Verify runout with a dial indicator after tool change, as small-diameter carbide end mills are sensitive to collet condition and taper cleanliness.
