The OSG 37420007 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. With a 0.2559 inch (6.50 mm) cutting diameter, four flutes, and a 30-degree helix angle, this tool delivers efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action on a wide range of workpiece materials. The WXL finish coating enhances wear resistance and extends tool life in abrasive and harder materials. Centercutting geometry allows for plunge milling in addition to peripheral and slot milling operations. The single-end design is standard for precision CNC and manual mill applications.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual knee mills across job shop, tool and die, and production environments. It handles a length of cut up to 0.9449 inches (24.00 mm), making it appropriate for moderate-depth slotting, profiling, and contouring. The 8.00 mm (approximately 0.315 inch) shank diameter and 70.00 mm (approximately 2.756 inch) overall length are typical for compact toolholders and collet chucks used in precision metalworking. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration are standard for conventional CNC spindle rotation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement solid carbide square end mill for use with standard collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and weldon-style toolholders accepting an 8.00 mm shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle lock is engaged before inserting or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder to the recommended gauge line and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing a cut, as excessive runout accelerates tool wear and degrades surface finish.
