The OSG 36702911 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision material removal in demanding machining applications. It features a 1/2 inch diameter, a 0.06 inch corner radius, and four right-hand helical flutes with a 30-degree medium helix angle. The cutting edge is 1 inch long and the tool measures 3 inches overall. A WXL PVD coating extends tool life and improves performance across a wide range of workpiece materials. Centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, adding versatility for slotting, profiling, and pocket milling operations. This end mill is used by machinists in job shops, production floors, and tool rooms.
This end mill handles both roughing and finishing passes on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The straight cylindrical shank measures 1/2 inch in diameter with a shank tolerance of h6, making it compatible with standard toolholders used in CNC machining centers and manual mills. The normal pitch and variable-index-free design suit general-purpose material removal where consistent chip evacuation and surface finish are priorities.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 1/2 inch cylindrical shank. Suitable for CNC machining centers and manual mills running steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials under OSG Series 3670.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's clamping specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or unloading the end mill. Verify runout at the tool tip after clamping to avoid premature edge wear. Confirm that spindle speed and feed rate are programmed within the tool manufacturer's recommended ranges for the target workpiece material before starting a cut.
