The OSG 36701711 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. With a 1/4 inch cutting diameter, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.06 inch corner radius, this single-end tool delivers both roughing and finishing capability in a single pass. The micrograin carbide substrate is coated with OSG WXL PVD coating, which improves wear resistance and heat dissipation at the cutting edge. Four helical flutes with a medium helix angle and right-hand cutting direction promote efficient chip evacuation. The straight-cylindrical 1/4 inch shank seats directly into a standard toolholder collet or end mill holder.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It is classified under OSG Series 3670, a regular-length line built for general-purpose and precision work in CNC machining centers and manual mills. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, which expands its use to slot milling, pocket entry, and profile contouring operations. Typical users include CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in job shop, production, and aerospace environments.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders accepting a 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank with h6 shank diameter tolerance. Compatible with CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with appropriate collet or end mill holder systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer torque and runout specifications. Ensure the shank is fully seated to the recommended minimum insertion depth before tightening. Inspect the collet and holder bore for wear or contamination prior to assembly, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear on carbide tooling. Always bring the spindle to a complete stop before changing or measuring tooling.
