The OSG 36210007 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of materials. With a 0.1875 inch (3/16 inch) cutting diameter and a 0.5625 inch length of cut, it delivers clean, flat-bottomed slots, pockets, and profile cuts. The micrograin carbide substrate provides hardness and edge retention well beyond standard carbide grades. A 35-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. The WXL coating adds wear resistance and thermal stability, extending tool life in demanding applications. This end mill is a single-end tool with a 0.1875 inch shank and a 2.25 inch overall length, sized for use in standard collet chucks and end mill holders.
This end mill suits precision machining operations in job shops, production environments, and toolrooms. It is appropriate for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a short, rigid tool setup is required. The 3/16 inch diameter and short overall length make it well suited to tight-tolerance work and high-speed finishing passes. Machinists and CNC operators working on dies, molds, fixtures, and close-tolerance components will find this geometry and coating combination practical for both roughing and finishing in shallow-to-medium depth applications.
Designed as a standard shank end mill for use in collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling systems that accept a 0.1875 inch (3/16 inch) shank diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended insertion depth in the holder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator after tool installation before beginning a cut.
