The OSG 36100711 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard alloys. The 0.3125 inch (5/16 inch) diameter cutter features a 2-flute helical geometry with a 30-degree helix angle and a 0.1563 inch nose radius, making it suitable for both roughing and finishing operations. The ultra-fine micrograin carbide substrate combined with OSG WXL PVD coating delivers rigidity and wear resistance in a wide range of milling applications. This is a single-end, right-hand cut tool from the OSG Series 3610 line.
The OSG 36100711 is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills across job shops, tool rooms, and production environments. It is well suited for profiling, contouring, and slotting in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. With a 0.3125 inch length of cut and a 4 inch overall length, this end mill fits standard applications where a compact reach and rigid setup are priorities. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly in standard ER collets or end mill holders without modification.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines accepting a 0.3125 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), and hard materials (H), with secondary suitability for non-ferrous metals (N) and superalloys and titanium (S).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque to the tool holder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, particularly when machining hard or abrasive materials.
