The OSG 36040711 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. With a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) mill diameter, 4-flute spiral geometry, and a 30-degree helix angle, this tool delivers efficient chip evacuation and a clean square shoulder profile. The WXL finish improves wear resistance and extends tool life across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Micrograin carbide construction provides the hardness and edge retention required for demanding cuts. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install and run this tool in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill suits general-purpose milling tasks where a compact diameter and short overall length are needed. The 5/8 inch length of cut and 2 inch overall length make it well suited for shallow-to-medium depth slot milling, profiling, and contouring on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. The right-hand cut, right-hand flute orientation is the standard configuration for conventional and climb milling setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use end mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 3/16 inch straight shank, Series 3604 tooling family.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Use a calibrated collet or end mill holder sized for a 3/16 inch shank and torque to the tool-holder specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut.
