The OSG 3334319 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in metal and ferrous materials. Built from solid carbide with an EgiAs coating, it operates at the elevated speeds and feeds that carbide tooling allows, delivering consistent hole quality across production runs. The 180-degree point angle provides a flat entry geometry suited for work on curved or irregular surfaces, reducing walking and improving positional accuracy. With a 4.3 mm diameter (0.1693 inch decimal equivalent) and a 6.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank, this bit is sized for precision work in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and production drilling fixtures. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die trades are the primary users.
This drill bit is intended for use in steel, alloy steel, and cast iron workpieces. The screw machine length body, with a 21.00 mm flute length and 60.00 mm overall length (2.3622 inches), keeps the tool rigid in short-reach applications, reducing deflection and improving hole straightness. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and tapered web configuration with web thinning support efficient chip evacuation. Coolant-through capability makes it compatible with machines equipped with through-spindle coolant delivery, extending tool life in continuous cutting operations.
Designed for use in steel, alloy steel, and cast iron workpieces. Part of the OSG Series 5720 product line. Fits standard toolholders and collets accepting a 6.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank (0.2362 inch decimal equivalent).
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tool-setup personnel familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Confirm the spindle and toolholder are clean and properly secured before mounting. Carbide drill bits are brittle compared to HSS tooling — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without proper feed support, or hand-feeding on manual machines without appropriate rigidity. When using coolant-through capability, verify the machine spindle delivers adequate coolant pressure before beginning the cut.
