The OSG 3331100 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous materials. It features a 0.4331 inch (11.00 mm) diameter, a 180-degree drill point angle, and a two-flute spiral configuration with web thinning for reduced thrust and improved chip evacuation. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 10.00 mm in diameter and fits standard chucks and toolholders without adapters. Manufactured to a diameter tolerance of +0 to -0.027 mm, this bit delivers consistent, repeatable hole quality in production and job-shop environments. It belongs to OSG Series 5700 and is classified as a high-performance tool.
This drill bit is suited for machining steel, alloy steel, and cast iron in applications where a short, rigid tool profile is required. The screw machine length format provides increased rigidity compared to jobber-length bits, making it a practical choice for CNC machining centers, turret lathes, and drill presses where shorter tool overhang reduces deflection and improves hole accuracy. The 2xD flute-to-diameter ratio keeps the tool compact while maintaining adequate chip clearance for the intended workpiece materials.
Designed as a high-performance OEM-style solid carbide drill for use in steel, alloy steel, and cast iron workpieces. Compatible with standard straight-shank toolholders accepting a 10.00 mm shank diameter.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are fully powered down and locked out before mounting or removing the bit. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a properly sized collet or drill chuck to the toolholder manufacturer torque specifications. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool; use appropriate external coolant or cutting fluid for the workpiece material and cutting parameters.
