The OSG 3330990 is a screw machine length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. Built from solid carbide and coated with OSG's proprietary EgiAs multi-layer coating, this bit delivers extended tool life and consistent performance in tough materials. It features a 9.90 mm diameter, a 180-degree flat bottom point geometry, and a right-hand cutting direction with a regular spiral flute. The overall length is 85.00 mm (3.3465 inches) with a flute length of 42.00 mm. The web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust force and improves chip evacuation. Machining shops, tool-and-die professionals, and CNC operators are the primary users of this series.
The OSG 3330990 is suited for drilling steel, cast iron, and hardened materials in production environments where screw machine length geometry is required. The shorter overall length relative to jobber-length bits provides added rigidity, making it well-suited for high-feed-rate operations on CNC machining centers, turret lathes, and screw machines. The straight cylindrical shank with an 8.00 mm diameter (0.3150 inches) fits standard drill chucks and collet holders without modification. This bit does not support coolant-through operation and is intended for external coolant or flood-coolant setups.
Designed for use on steel, cast iron, and hardened materials. Fits standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting an 8.00 mm straight cylindrical shank. Part of the OSG Series 5700 high-performance carbide drill line, covering the 0.3500 to 0.4000 decimal inch diameter range.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine in a full stop and lockout-tagout procedures followed per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the collet or chuck is torqued to the toolholder manufacturer's specification before beginning a cut. External or flood coolant should be directed at the cutting zone, as this bit does not support internal coolant-through delivery. Inspect the cutting edge and coating for wear or chipping before each use to maintain hole-diameter tolerance.
