The OSG 3330700 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous materials. At 0.2756 inches (7.00 mm) in diameter, it features a 180-degree drill point angle with a web-thinned, tapered web configuration that reduces thrust and improves centering on entry. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 6.00 mm in diameter and fits standard drill chucks and collet holders. A regular spiral flute with a 2xD flute-to-diameter ratio evacuates chips efficiently in short-hole applications. Licensed machinists, tool and die shops, and maintenance technicians install this bit where screw machine length geometry is required for rigid setups.
The OSG 3330700 is suited for drilling steel, alloy steel, and cast iron in both production and maintenance environments. Its screw machine length body — with an overall length of 70.00 mm and a flute length of 30.00 mm — provides added rigidity compared to jobber-length bits, making it a practical choice for CNC machining centers, turret lathes, and drill presses where stub-length reach is acceptable. No coolant-through capability is included; external coolant or cutting fluid application is the standard approach for this series.
Designed for drilling steel, alloy steel, and cast iron. Fits standard straight-shank drill chucks and ER-style collet holders accepting a 6.00 mm shank. Intended for screw machine length drill bit applications in the 0.2500 to 0.3000 inch (6.50 to 8.00 mm) diameter range.
This bit is installed by machinists and tool room technicians in drill chucks or collet holders rated for the 6.00 mm straight shank. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the chuck or collet is torqued to the holder manufacturer's specification. Apply external cutting fluid or coolant when drilling steel or cast iron to manage heat and extend tool life; this bit does not support coolant-through delivery.
