The OSG 3330690 is a screw machine length solid carbide drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in steel, alloy steel, and cast iron. At 6.90 mm (0.2717 inches) in diameter, it features a 180-degree flat point with web thinning for accurate entry and reduced thrust. The EgiAs coating improves wear resistance and tool life in demanding production environments. With an overall length of 70 mm (2.7559 inches) and a flute length of 30 mm, the stub-length geometry provides rigidity in short-reach drilling applications. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and CNC machine operators are the primary users of this bit.
This drill bit is suited for production machining, job shop work, and CNC operations requiring precise hole quality in ferrous materials. The screw machine length format fits standard drill chucks and collet holders, making it a practical choice for vertical machining centers, drill presses, and turret lathes. The 2xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral geometry support efficient chip evacuation at typical production feed rates.
Designed as a replacement or production-stock drill bit for machining operations in steel, alloy steel, and cast iron workpieces. Compatible with any standard drill chuck or collet holder accepting a 6 mm (0.2362 inch) straight cylindrical shank. Part of the OSG Series 5700 product line.
This bit is installed by machinists and CNC operators into drill chucks or collet tool holders. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and powered down before changing tooling. Set appropriate spindle speed and feed rate for the workpiece material and bit diameter before beginning the cut. Do not exceed the manufacturer-rated diameter tolerance range when specifying hole fit requirements.
