The OSG 3330560 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It features a 5.60 mm (0.2205 inch) cutting diameter, a 180-degree flat bottom point geometry, and OSG's proprietary EgiAs multi-layer coating designed to extend tool life in abrasive and hard workpiece materials. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 6.00 mm (0.2362 inch) in diameter, and the overall length is 65.00 mm (2.5591 inches). The shorter screw machine length body improves rigidity and reduces deflection in confined machining environments. This bit is installed and used by machinists, toolroom operators, and precision manufacturing technicians.
The OSG 3330560 is suited for drilling steel, cast iron, and hardened materials in production machining and toolroom applications. The screw machine length format makes it a practical choice for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and turret lathes where stub-length rigidity is required. The 2xD flute-to-diameter ratio and web-thinned, tapered web configuration support chip evacuation and reduced thrust in short-hole drilling operations. The right-hand spiral flute geometry is compatible with standard spindle rotation on the majority of production equipment.
The OSG 3330560 falls within the 5.00 to 6.50 mm diameter range of the OSG Series 5700 screw machine drill family and is intended for use in steel, cast iron, and hardened materials. Coolant-through capability is not supported by this bit; external coolant or cutting fluid application is recommended for tool life in production runs.
This drill bit is installed by machinists and toolroom personnel in CNC machining centers, manual drill presses, or turret lathes using a collet or drill chuck matched to the 6.00 mm shank diameter. Ensure the spindle and workpiece are secured before initiating a cut, and confirm spindle rotation is set to right-hand (clockwise) before operation. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended surface footage for the workpiece material. Apply cutting fluid or coolant externally when drilling steel or hardened materials to maintain coating integrity and tool life.
