The OSG 3330310 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial applications. Built from solid carbide and coated with OSG EgiAs multi-layer coating, this bit delivers extended tool life and thermal resistance in hard-to-machine materials. It features a 180-degree flat bottom point, making it well-suited for flat-bottomed holes and precise entry without a pilot. The 3.10 mm diameter, two-flute spiral design and web-thinned tapered web reduce cutting resistance and improve chip evacuation. Licensed trades machinists, toolroom technicians, and production floor operators rely on bits of this type for consistent hole quality in tight-tolerance work.
This drill bit is designed for drilling steel, cast iron, and hardened materials in screw machine and short-hole drilling operations. The screw machine length format provides added rigidity compared to jobber-length bits, making it a practical choice in high-cycle production environments, CNC machining centers, and manual drill press setups where hole position accuracy and surface finish matter. The 6.00 mm straight cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks and drill holders without adapters in most setups.
Designed as a replacement or production-stock drill bit for operations requiring a 3.10 mm solid carbide screw machine length bit in steel, cast iron, and hardened material applications. Part of the OSG Series 5700 line.
Installation should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with cutting tool setup and speeds and feeds for carbide tooling. Secure the straight cylindrical shank fully in a collet chuck or drill holder before operation and confirm runout is within acceptable limits. Do not use this bit in applications requiring coolant-through delivery, as this series does not support coolant-through. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and tooling manufacturer guidelines for appropriate spindle speeds and feed rates for the workpiece material.
