The OSG 3330290 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. With a 2.90 mm diameter and a 180-degree flat bottom point, this bit delivers precise, flat-bottomed holes suited to tight-tolerance machining applications. The proprietary EgiAs multi-layer coating reduces friction and extends tool life when cutting through tough workpiece materials. At 50.00 mm overall length and a 4.00 mm straight cylindrical shank, this is a compact, rigid tool built for stability in short-reach drilling operations. Installation and use are handled by machinists and toolroom professionals in CNC and conventional drill press setups.
This drill bit is engineered for cutting steel, cast iron, and hardened materials in screw machine length configurations. The 2xD flute-to-diameter ratio and web-thinned, tapered web geometry reduce thrust force and improve chip evacuation in shallow-to-moderate depth holes. It is best suited for high-cycle production drilling where tool life and hole quality are priorities. The right-hand cutting direction and regular spiral flute are standard for conventional spindle rotation. Coolant-through capability is not available on this bit, so external coolant or flood cooling should be used as appropriate for the workpiece material.
Designed as an OEM-style screw machine length drill bit compatible with standard straight-shank toolholders, collet chucks, and drill press spindles accepting a 4.00 mm shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped. Ensure the shank is fully seated and securely clamped in the toolholder before operation. External coolant or cutting fluid is recommended since this bit does not support coolant-through delivery. Inspect the cutting edge and coating for wear or chipping before each use, particularly when drilling hardened materials.
