The OSG 3300250 is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in tight-tolerance applications. It carries a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating that increases surface hardness and thermal resistance, extending tool life in harder workpiece materials. The 130-degree four-facet point geometry reduces thrust force and improves centering accuracy at entry. With an overall length of 50 mm (approximately 1.97 inches) and a 3 mm (approximately 0.118 inches) shank diameter, this bit is sized for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and high-speed spindles. It is part of the OSG Series 5330 and is suited for machinists, toolroom technicians, and precision fabricators.
This drill bit is used in precision machining environments where small-diameter holes are required in materials such as hardened steels, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. The TiAlN coating performs well in dry and semi-dry cutting conditions, making it a practical choice for shops running production cycles without flood coolant on small-diameter work. The 14 mm (approximately 0.551 inches) flute length accommodates moderate hole depths typical in micro-drilling operations. Right-hand cut geometry is standard for conventional spindle rotation.
Designed as a precision micro drill bit for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and high-speed spindles accepting a 3 mm shank diameter. Suitable for drilling hardened and abrasion-resistant materials where a TiAlN-coated solid carbide tool is specified.
This tool should be installed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with small-diameter carbide tooling. Ensure the spindle and collet or chuck are clean and true before seating the shank, as runout will cause premature breakage in micro-diameter drills. Carbide is brittle — avoid side-loading or manual prying. Set feed rates and spindle speeds according to the workpiece material and the tool manufacturer guidelines for 2.5 mm solid carbide; do not use feed or speed values from high-speed steel drill charts.
