The OSG 3182642 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.1654-inch (4.2 mm) cutting diameter and a 0.6614-inch (16.8 mm) length of cut, this end mill is built for small-diameter work where accuracy and tool rigidity are critical. The 0.2362-inch (6.0 mm) shank provides stable tool holding in standard collet chucks. The 40-degree helix angle and right-hand cut geometry promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. Applied WXL coating improves wear resistance and extends tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops and production environments are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling at small diameters. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, expanding its versatility in tight-tolerance work. The micrograin carbide grade supports rigidity and edge retention in demanding cuts. With an overall length of approximately 55 mm (2.165 inches) and a right-hand flute direction, it mounts conventionally in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with appropriate collet systems. It is a single-end tool sold individually.
Part of OSG Series 3723 solid carbide square end mills. Designed for use in standard collet chucks and tool holders accepting a 0.2362-inch (6.0 mm) shank diameter on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool-change protocol observed before inserting or removing the end mill from the collet or tool holder. Verify shank diameter compatibility with the collet size before clamping. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, as microfractures in carbide tooling can cause unexpected tool failure during a cut.
