The OSG 3182433 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 0.1299-inch (3.3 mm) cutting diameter, a 0.3898-inch (9.9 mm) length of cut, and a 0.2362-inch (6.0 mm) shank diameter. The two-flute, right-hand cut geometry with a 35-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and clean cutting in a variety of materials. The micrograin carbide substrate and WXL coating work together to extend tool life and maintain edge integrity under demanding conditions. This end mill is centercutting, which allows for direct plunge capability. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users of this tooling.
This end mill is suited for light to medium milling operations where a small-diameter, two-flute tool is required. Its 35-degree helix and right-hand flute direction make it a solid choice for slotting, profiling, and pocketing in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 0.3898-inch length of cut falls within the 0.3000 to 0.5000-inch length-of-cut range for this tool family. Its compact diameter makes it well suited for fine-detail work and tight-tolerance applications on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Designed as a standard shank end mill compatible with collet-style and ER-style toolholders accepting a 0.2362-inch (6.0 mm) shank diameter on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked before changing tooling. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder collet to the recommended engagement depth and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting speeds and feeds for carbide end mills.
