The OSG 3182425 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. With a 0.0984-inch (2.5 mm) cutting diameter and a 0.2953-inch (7.5 mm) length of cut, this tool is built for tight-tolerance work in die and mold, general machining, and production environments. The micrograin carbide substrate and WXL coating deliver hardness and wear resistance suited to ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 35-degree helix angle promotes chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces at the tool tip. A licensed machinist or CNC operator is the typical end user for this tool.
This end mill is suited for vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills where small-diameter finish work or slotting is required. The 0.1575-inch (4.0 mm) shank diameter fits standard ER collets and other small-bore toolholding systems common in precision shops. The single-end, center-cutting design allows for plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral milling. It is well matched to light-to-moderate depth-of-cut passes in steel, aluminum, and similar workpiece materials where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are priorities.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in standard ER collet chucks and small-bore toolholders accepting a 0.1575-inch (4.0 mm) shank diameter on CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator familiar with toolholder torque procedures and runout requirements for small-diameter end mills. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet to the recommended engagement depth to minimize deflection and runout. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping before each use, as micrograin carbide tools are brittle and sensitive to improper handling or excessive radial load.
