The OSG 3182044 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metal cutting and machining applications. It features a 0.1732-inch cutting diameter, a 0.3465-inch length of cut, and a 0.2362-inch shank diameter. Built from micrograin solid carbide and finished with OSG WXL coating, this end mill delivers consistent cutting performance in demanding materials. The 30-degree helix angle and right-hand cut configuration make it well suited for general-purpose slot milling, profiling, and finishing passes. Installation and use are handled by machinists and CNC operators working with vertical and horizontal milling machines.
This end mill is designed for use in precision machining environments including job shops, tool rooms, and production floors. Its small cutting diameter makes it appropriate for fine-detail work, tight-tolerance slots, and contour milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The two-flute geometry provides good chip clearance in softer materials while the micrograin carbide substrate supports use in harder workpieces. The WXL coating improves wear resistance and extends tool life in dry or minimal-lubrication cutting conditions.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill in the OSG Series 3721 product line, suitable for use in standard milling machine collets and tool holders accepting a 0.2362-inch shank diameter.
This end mill should be installed by a qualified machinist familiar with tool holder runout tolerances and proper collet torque procedures per machine manufacturer specifications. Verify that the tool holder is clean and free of chips or damage before seating the shank. Always confirm spindle direction and feed rate settings before initiating a cut. Inspect the cutting edge for wear or chipping before each use and replace the tool at the first sign of edge degradation to avoid workpiece damage.
