The OSG 3182007 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in tight-tolerance applications. With a 0.0276-inch mill diameter and a 0.0551-inch length of cut, this is a micro-end mill built for fine detail work in hard and abrasive materials. The 0.1575-inch shank diameter provides stable tool holding in standard collets. A 30-degree helix angle and two right-hand flutes promote efficient chip evacuation, and the WXL coating adds wear resistance for extended tool life in demanding cutting conditions. Machinists and toolroom operators rely on this geometry for small-feature contouring and slotting.
This end mill is suited for precision machining operations in tool and die, mold making, medical device manufacturing, and electronics fabrication where small diameters and tight tolerances are required. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, making it versatile for both slotting and profiling passes. The micrograin carbide substrate supports high cutting speeds in ferrous and non-ferrous materials without premature edge breakdown.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for applications requiring a 0.1575-inch (4.00 mm) shank diameter collet or tool holder in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop-standard toolholding procedures. Ensure the collet and toolholder are clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Always power down the spindle and follow lockout procedures before changing tooling.
