The OSG 3106150 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials. Built on OSG Series 3710 Exocarb geometry, this single-end tool features a 1.50 mm (0.0591 inches) cutting diameter, a 2-flute helical configuration with a 30-degree helix angle, and a proprietary WXL PVD coating engineered for rigidity and wear resistance. The ultra-fine micrograin carbide substrate supports both roughing and finishing passes. It is suited for use by machinists and toolroom professionals working on precision components where tight diameter tolerances and consistent surface finish are required.
This ball end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills handling ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. Primary material applications include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, H). Secondary applications extend to non-ferrous metals and superalloys including titanium (ISO codes N, S). The 6.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank and 50.00 mm overall length make it compatible with standard metric collet and toolholder systems. The 0.75 mm nose radius and 4.00 mm length of cut are suited for detail work, contour milling, and 3D profiling on hardened components.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and mills equipped with standard metric collet systems or toolholders accepting a 6.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Part of the OSG Series 3710 Exocarb WXL line.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Seat the shank fully into the collet or toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edge and coating for chips or wear before each use. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or axial engagement for the diameter class; consult OSG Series 3710 feeds-and-speeds documentation for proper cutting parameters.
