The OSG 3102008 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in steel, stainless steel, and hard materials. It features a 2 mm cutting diameter with a 0.2 mm corner radius, a 1.6 mm length of cut, and a 4 mm straight-cylindrical shank. The WXS PVD coating improves wear resistance and heat tolerance, extending tool life in demanding applications. With a 30-degree medium helix, right-hand cut and flute direction, and a coarse pitch, this stub-length single-end mill is suited for roughing operations. It is center-cutting and carries an extended-reach geometry with a 10 mm reach length and 1.95 mm neck diameter. Installation is performed by machinists using standard toolholders.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines where tight corner geometry and material hardness demand a coated carbide tool. The stub-length profile and extended-reach neck make it well suited for slotting and peripheral milling in confined workpiece features. Primary workpiece materials include steel (P), stainless steel (M), and hard materials (H). It is used as a replacement or production tool in toolholder-mounted setups across job shops, production facilities, and precision manufacturing environments.
Designed for use with standard toolholders in CNC milling applications. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, and hard materials as indicated by material codes P, M, and H. Part of OSG Series 4592.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's clamping specifications. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is properly seated in the toolholder before securing. Confirm runout is within acceptable limits after installation to protect the cutting edge and maintain dimensional tolerance. Handle solid carbide tooling carefully to avoid chipping the flutes or corner radius prior to use.
