The OSG 300-3480 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in general machining applications. Ground to a Letter S diameter of 0.3480 inches, it holds a tight tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0005 inches, making it suitable for work requiring accurate bore sizing. The 6-flute, straight-flute geometry in a right-hand cutting direction provides smooth chip evacuation and consistent surface finish. At 3.5 inches overall length with a 1.25-inch flute length, the 300-3480 fits standard drill chuck setups via its straight-cylindrical shank. Machinists and toolroom technicians rely on this reamer for finishing drilled or bored holes to close tolerances in steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous materials.
The 300-3480 is suited for CNC machining centers, manual lathes, and drill press operations where hole quality and dimensional accuracy are priorities. It is part of the OSG 300D series, a line of standard solid carbide reamers built for general-purpose production and toolroom use. The bright, uncoated finish makes it appropriate for a wide range of workpiece materials where coating chemistry is not required. This reamer is sold individually and is intended for use in shop environments where consistent bore sizing to Letter S specifications is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling option for any setup requiring a Letter S diameter chucking reamer with a straight-cylindrical shank. Fits standard drill chucks and collet holders sized for the straight shank diameter.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with cutting tool setup and machine safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the reamer from the chuck or collet holder. Verify chuck or collet bore condition and runout before use, as excessive runout will degrade hole tolerance and reamer life. Do not use this reamer as a drill; it is intended only for finishing pre-drilled or bored holes at or near final diameter.
