The OSG 300-1590 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in general machining applications. With a reamer diameter of 0.1590 inches (Wire Size 21) and a tight diameter tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, this tool delivers accurate, repeatable hole sizing in production and job-shop environments. The straight flute geometry and right-hand cutting direction make it well suited for through-holes and short blind-hole applications in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC operators using standard drill chucks or collet holders.
This reamer is intended for general machining applications requiring close-tolerance hole finishing in the 0.1500 to 0.1999 inch diameter range. The straight cylindrical shank allows direct chucking in conventional drill chucks, collet chucks, or floating reamer holders. With an overall length of 2.5 inches and a flute length of 0.75 inches, this tool is sized for compact workpieces and short-reach operations on manual mills, drill presses, and CNC machining centers. No coolant-through capability is present, so flood or mist coolant applied externally is recommended for best tool life.
Designed as a standard solid carbide chucking reamer for general machining applications requiring hole finishing in the 0.1500 to 0.1999 inch decimal inch diameter range.
This reamer is installed by machinists and CNC operators; ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the workpiece is securely fixtured before tool changes. Chuck the straight cylindrical shank concentrically in a drill chuck, ER collet, or floating holder to minimize runout and protect the tight diameter tolerance. Pre-drill or bore the hole close to finished size before reaming, as chucking reamers are finishing tools and are not designed to remove heavy stock. Apply external flood or mist coolant to extend tool life, as this tool does not have coolant-through capability.
