The OSG 300-1200 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in general machining applications. It carries a wire size designation of 31, corresponding to a decimal diameter of 0.1200 inches, and holds a tight diameter tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches for controlled fit on close-tolerance bores. The reamer features a straight flute geometry with a right-hand cut and a straight cylindrical shank for use in standard drill chucks or collet holders. Overall length is 2.25 inches with a flute length of 0.625 inches. Machinists and CNC operators handling light-diameter finish reaming in production or toolroom environments are the primary installers.
This reamer is suited for finish reaming wire-gauge holes in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where dimensional accuracy and surface finish are critical. The solid carbide construction makes it appropriate for harder workpiece materials and high-cycle production runs where HSS tooling wears quickly. This tool is installed and operated by machinists in manual or CNC drilling and milling equipment. Secure the straight shank firmly in a drill chuck or precision collet holder before use, and verify runout is within acceptable limits to protect the close-tolerance carbide cutting edges. Always bring the spindle to a complete stop before changing or inspecting the reamer. Appropriate speeds and feeds for the workpiece material should be referenced from the manufacturer or standard machining data tables before use.
