The OSG 2917801 is a spiral flute tap designed for cutting 8-32 UNC internal threads with a right-hand thread direction. Built from vanadium high-speed steel and finished with a steam oxide coating, this tap delivers consistent thread quality in a range of ferrous materials. The 45-degree helix angle drives chips up and out of the hole, making it well suited for blind-hole tapping applications. The modified bottoming chamfer allows threading close to the bottom of a hole while maintaining reliable tool engagement. Overall length is 2.125 inches with a thread length of 0.251 inches.

This tap is intended for machine or hand tapping operations in metalworking and fabrication environments. The H5 thread limit designation makes it appropriate for close-tolerance threading work where fit and finish matter.
