The OSG 2841601 is a spiral point plug tap designed for threading 3/8-16 UNC holes in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from vanadium high-speed steel (HSS-E) with a steam oxide coating, this tap offers improved lubricity and corrosion resistance during through-hole tapping operations. The spiral point geometry pushes chips forward ahead of the cutting zone, making it well suited for through-hole applications where chip evacuation is critical. It carries an H5 thread limit and produces 2B class of fit threads. Overall length is 2.937 inches with a thread length of 1.25 inches and a shank diameter of 0.381 inches.
