The OSG 2812808 is a spiral point plug tap designed for threading 8-32 unified coarse holes in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from High-Speed Steel-E (HSS-E) with a Titanium Carbonitride (TiCN) coating, it delivers extended tool life and reduced friction in demanding production or maintenance applications. The plug chamfer allows threading to near the bottom of through holes. With 3 flutes and a right-hand thread direction, this tap pushes chips forward ahead of the cutting edge, keeping the flutes clear during machine tapping operations. Thread limit is H3, suited for standard tolerance fits.

This tap is appropriate for through-hole threading in both manual and CNC machine tapping setups.
