The OSG 220-3770 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit with a 0.3770-inch (Letter V) diameter and a 118-degree web-thinned point. Manufactured under OSG Series 220D, it features a bright/uncoated finish, a two-flute right-hand spiral configuration, and a straight-cylindrical shank. Overall length is 4.25 inches with a flute length of 2.75 inches. The solid carbide construction delivers the rigidity and edge retention needed for accurate hole-making in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. This bit is suited for machinists, tool-and-die shops, and metalworking operations requiring consistent, repeatable results across high-volume drilling cycles.
Designed for general-purpose metal drilling, the OSG 220-3770 handles a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate. It is appropriate for blind-hole drilling, cross-hole operations, through-hole drilling, and self-centering applications. The web-thinned point reduces thrust force at entry, making it practical for both manual drill press setups and CNC machining centers where tool life and hole quality are primary concerns.
Compatible with workpiece materials including steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate. Fits standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 9.58 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for drill presses, machining centers, and hand-held drilling equipment rated for solid carbide tooling.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or metalworking tradespeople familiar with rotary cutting tools. Ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured and the spindle is at a full stop before changing or inspecting the bit. Solid carbide is brittle — avoid lateral loading, interrupted cuts without proper setup, or dropping the tool on hard surfaces. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain hole quality.
