The OSG 220-3320 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit sized to Letter Q (0.3320 inch / 8.43 mm) with a 118-degree web-thinned point. Part of the OSG Series 220D, it is designed for general-purpose drilling in metalworking applications. The two-flute, right-hand spiral design delivers efficient chip evacuation and self-centering entry. With an overall length of 4 inches and a flute length of 2.5 inches, this bit fits standard drill chucks via its straight-cylindrical shank. Machinists, tool-and-die shops, and fabrication crews use this bit for blind holes, cross holes, and through-hole drilling operations.
This bit is suited for drilling steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces. It performs well in general-purpose production and maintenance environments where consistent hole quality and tight diameter tolerance are required. The bright (uncoated) finish is appropriate for use with flood coolant applied externally; coolant-through capability is not supported on this model. Typical applications include blind hole drilling, cross-hole operations, and self-centering starts on flat or contoured surfaces.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length drill bit for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held drilling equipment accepting a straight-cylindrical shank of 8.43 mm diameter. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or tool operators familiar with drill press or CNC equipment setup. Ensure the machine spindle and chuck are powered down and fully stopped before inserting or removing the bit. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in the chuck or collet to the manufacturer-specified clamping depth to prevent runout. Apply appropriate external cutting fluid or flood coolant for the workpiece material being drilled to extend tool life and maintain hole quality.
