The OSG 220-2130 is a jobber-length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in a wide range of metallic workpiece materials. Built from solid carbide with a bright uncoated finish, this bit features a 118-degree web-thinned point and a two-flute regular spiral configuration that promotes efficient chip evacuation. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 3.00 mm in diameter and fits standard drill chucks without modification. At 3 inches overall length with a 1-3/4 inch flute length, the 220-2130 suits bench drill presses, CNC machining centers, and handheld power drilling applications where consistent hole geometry and dimensional accuracy are required.
This bit is rated for use in steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces, covering the primary material codes P, M, K, and N. It is suited for blind hole drilling, cross hole drilling, through-hole drilling, and self-centering operations. The Series 220D solid carbide construction supports higher cutting speeds compared to high-speed steel alternatives, making it appropriate for production environments and precision trade work where repeatability matters. Coolant-through capability is not available on this model.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length drill bit for use in standard drill chucks and CNC toolholders accepting a straight-cylindrical shank; suitable for drilling steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and aluminum alloy workpieces across blind hole, cross hole, and through-hole applications.
Machinists and tool-and-die professionals should ensure the drill chuck or collet is properly tightened and the workpiece is securely fixtured before beginning any drilling operation. Carbide drill bits are brittle and can fracture if subjected to side loading, excessive runout, or interrupted cuts without adequate support. Disconnect or lock out all power to the machine before changing or inspecting tooling. Follow applicable OSHA machine-guarding and personal protective equipment requirements when operating drilling equipment.
