The OSG 220-1910 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit in the Series 220D line, sized to wire gauge No. 11 (0.1910 decimal inch / 4.85 mm). It carries a 118-degree web-thinned point for accurate self-centering entry and reduced thrust. The bright uncoated finish keeps the carbide substrate exposed for maximum hardness and heat dissipation at the cutting edge. Overall length is 2.75 inches with a 1.625-inch spiral flute and a straight-cylindrical shank. Right-hand cut geometry with a regular spiral and tapered web configuration makes this a general-purpose drilling solution suited to production and maintenance environments.
This bit is designed for drilling in steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate. Web-thinned point geometry reduces chisel-edge thrust, which is especially useful in cross-hole and blind-hole work. Tool and die shops, maintenance machinists, and metalworking tradespeople will find it well suited to standard column drilling, CNC, or handheld electric drill operations. No coolant-through capability; external coolant or cutting fluid should be applied when drilling harder ferrous materials. Sold individually.
Designed as a general-purpose OEM-style jobber drill bit for use in standard drill chucks accepting a straight-cylindrical shank; compatible with steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces per Series 220D application data.
Install and remove this bit only with the drill motor fully de-energized and the chuck key removed from the chuck. Tighten the straight-cylindrical shank securely in a keyed or keyless chuck to prevent slippage and runout. Use appropriate cutting fluid or external coolant when drilling ferrous or stainless materials to extend tool life and prevent work-hardening. Diameter tolerance is +0 to -0.013 mm; select the correct wire-gauge size before drilling to maintain hole tolerance requirements.
