The OSG 220-1470 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit in wire gauge size No. 26 (0.1470 inches, 3.73 mm). It is built for drilling into steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate. The 118-degree web-thinned point improves self-centering and reduces thrust when entering the workpiece. With a 2-flute right-hand spiral flute geometry and bright uncoated finish, this bit is suited for general-purpose production drilling where carbide hardness and edge retention are required. Licensed machinists, toolroom technicians, and maintenance trades install this bit in standard drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held drilling equipment.
The 220-1470 is designed for general-purpose applications including blind hole drilling, cross-hole drilling, through drilling, and self-centering operations. Its straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks without modification. The regular spiral flute profile promotes chip evacuation in the workpiece materials listed. This bit carries no coolant-through capability and is intended for dry or externally lubricated cutting operations typical in job shops, maintenance facilities, and light manufacturing environments.
Designed as a general-purpose OEM-style solid carbide jobber drill bit for use in standard drill chucks accepting a straight-cylindrical shank; compatible with primary workpiece material codes P, M, K, and N as defined by ISO material classification.
Installation is performed by machinists and maintenance technicians using standard drill presses, lathes, or CNC machining centers. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in the chuck before operation and verify runout is within acceptable tolerance. Always power down and lock out the machine before changing bits. Apply appropriate cutting fluid externally when drilling stainless steel or cast iron to extend tool life and manage heat.
