The OSG 220-1094 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in a wide range of metalworking applications. Built from solid carbide, it delivers the hardness and wear resistance needed for drilling steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and aluminum alloys. The bit features a 118-degree point angle with a web-thinned tip that reduces thrust and improves self-centering at entry. The two-flute spiral design with a regular helix promotes efficient chip evacuation. At 0.1094 inches (2.78 mm) in diameter with a bright, uncoated finish, it is suited for general-purpose production and maintenance drilling where tight tolerances are required.
This drill bit is intended for use in machine shop, tool and die, and maintenance environments where metalworking professionals drill blind holes, cross holes, and through holes in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders. With a 31.80 mm flute length and 57.20 mm overall length, it is sized for benchtop drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held electric drills used in production and repair work. The tapered web configuration and web-thinned point make it effective for self-centering starts without a center punch in many setups.
Rated for use in steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces (ISO material codes P, M, K, and N). Suitable for blind hole, cross hole, through-hole drilling, and self-centering applications in OSG Series 220D tooling setups.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with proper chuck-mounting and speed-and-feed selection for solid carbide tooling. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout before drilling. Solid carbide is brittle compared to high-speed steel — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts beyond the tool's rated capability, or dropping the bit on hard surfaces. Coolant through is not supported on this tool; apply external coolant or cutting fluid as appropriate for the workpiece material.
