The OSG 220-0995 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit in wire gauge size No. 39, equivalent to 0.0995 inch (2.53 mm) diameter. It features a 118-degree web-thinned point, a 2-flute regular spiral geometry, and a bright uncoated finish. The overall length is 2.25 inches with a flute length of 1.25 inches. Solid carbide construction delivers the rigidity and heat resistance required when drilling steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and aluminum alloys. This bit is suited for production machining environments where consistent hole quality and dimensional accuracy are required.
The 220-0995 is designed for general-purpose drilling applications including blind holes, cross holes, standard through-hole drilling, and self-centering operations. The web-thinned point reduces thrust force and improves centering, making it well suited for close-tolerance work in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collets without modification. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in job shops, production lines, and precision metalworking operations are the primary users of this series.
Designed for use in standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate, corresponding to ISO material codes P, M, K, and N. Part of the OSG Series 220D jobber-length carbide drill line.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Secure the shank fully in a properly sized chuck or collet before operation and verify runout before drilling. Solid carbide tooling is brittle and susceptible to breakage from side loading or interrupted cuts; avoid lateral forces during drilling. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the workpiece material to extend tool life, noting that this bit does not support coolant-through delivery.
