The 118-degree web-thinned point reduces thrust force and promotes self-centering on entry. This bit is installed by machinists and metalworking technicians using standard drill presses, CNC machining centers, or handheld drill drivers with a compatible chuck accepting a 3/32-inch straight shank. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and verify chuck runout is within tolerance, as carbide is brittle and susceptible to breakage from lateral loading. Coolant through is not supported on this bit; apply cutting fluid externally when drilling stainless steel or cast iron to manage heat and extend tool life. Inspect the point for chipping before each use, as micro-chipping on a carbide tip is not always visible without magnification.
