The OSG 215-0960 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit in wire gauge size No. 41, with a decimal equivalent of 0.0960 inches (2.44 mm). It features a 135-degree web-thinned split point that reduces walking and cutting force at entry. The overall length is 46.00 mm with a 20.60 mm flute length, a straight-cylindrical shank, and a slow spiral flute configuration. The bright, uncoated finish leaves the carbide substrate exposed for high-strength, heat-resistant performance. This drill is designed for production and maintenance drilling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials and is suited for use by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance professionals.
The OSG 215-0960 is intended for drilling steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum silicate, nickel alloy, titanium, and titanium alloys. It supports blind hole drilling, cross hole drilling, standard through-hole drilling, and self-centering applications. The slow spiral geometry is well-matched to harder, more chip-resistant materials where controlled chip evacuation is a priority. This is a general-purpose carbide drill suited to both CNC machining centers and manual drill press operations where a small-diameter, high-rigidity bit is required.

Install and removal should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians following the machine tool manufacturer's chuck or collet torque and runout specifications. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle completely before changing tooling. Verify shank seating and minimize runout before beginning a cut — excessive runout in small-diameter carbide drills can cause premature breakage. Coolant-through is not supported on this drill; use appropriate external flood or mist coolant when drilling heat-sensitive alloys.
