The OSG 215-0433 is a jobber-length solid carbide drill bit designed for precision drilling in a wide range of metallic workpiece materials. Built to Series 215 standards, it features a 135-degree web-thinned point that reduces thrust on entry and promotes self-centering without a pilot hole. The slow spiral flute geometry controls chip evacuation in deep or blind-hole applications. At 1.1 mm in diameter with a straight-cylindrical shank of matching diameter, this bit is suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and precision hand-held spindle tools. It carries a bright, uncoated finish and is ground to a tight diameter tolerance of plus 0 to minus 0.013 mm. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and precision fabricators are the primary users.
This drill bit is rated for general-purpose drilling operations including blind holes, cross holes, through holes, and self-centering applications. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum silicate, nickel alloy, titanium, and titanium alloys, corresponding to material codes P, M, K, N, S, and H. The 1.1 mm diameter and 38.1 mm overall length make it appropriate for tight-tolerance work in tooling plates, fixture components, and precision assemblies where larger bits cannot reach or would remove too much material.
Designed as an OEM-style general-purpose carbide drill bit compatible with workpiece material codes P, M, K, N, S, and H, covering steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum silicate, nickel alloy, titanium, and titanium alloys. Coolant-through capability is not supported by this bit.
This bit is intended for use by machinists and precision fabricators operating CNC equipment, drill presses, or precision spindle tools. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in a collet or drill chuck before operation and verify runout before cutting. Solid carbide bits are brittle compared to high-speed steel and should not be used in applications with significant lateral load or workpiece vibration. Follow machine manufacturer feed and speed recommendations for the specific workpiece material.
