The OSG 20614400 is a solid carbide diamond pattern router bit designed for cutting and routing composite materials in demanding fabrication and machining applications. With a 0.25 inch cutter diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 1/4 inch shank diameter, this bit is engineered for precision work where tool longevity and clean edge quality matter. The diamond finish coating extends tool life and reduces friction during cuts. Right-hand cutting geometry and a burr-style end type make it well suited for aggressive material removal in thin-wall and layered composite structures. CNC machine operators and composite fabricators are the primary users of this tool.
This router bit is specifically suited for machining carbon fiber, carbon composites, and honeycomb core materials. These substrates are highly abrasive and will rapidly wear conventional tooling, making the solid carbide construction and diamond finish coating critical performance factors. Typical applications include trimming, slotting, and profiling operations on composite panels used in aerospace, automotive, and industrial fabrication. The 3 inch overall length provides adequate clearance for standard CNC router setups and multi-axis machining fixtures.
Designed for machining carbon, carbon fiber, and honeycomb core materials. Fits standard 1/4 inch CNC router collets and compatible toolholders.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified CNC operators or machining technicians with the spindle fully powered down and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the collet nut is torqued according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. When machining carbon fiber or composite materials, use appropriate respiratory protection and dust collection, as composite particulate poses a health hazard. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and remove the bit from service if chipping or wear is observed.
