The OSG 20557504 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. It features a 3/4-inch diameter, a 0.12-inch corner radius, and five flutes with a variable helix and variable index geometry. The overall length is 4 inches with a 1-1/2-inch length of cut. An EXO PVD TiAlN coating protects the cutting edges during aggressive passes through difficult workpiece materials. This tool is used by machinists and CNC programmers working in production and job-shop environments where both roughing and finishing passes are required in a single tool path.
This end mill is engineered for use in stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and other hard materials where heat and tool wear are primary concerns. The variable helix design reduces chatter and harmonic vibration during deep-axial cuts, making it well suited for aerospace, medical, and energy-sector component machining. The Weldon flat shank provides positive drive in compatible toolholders. The single-end, right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC milling setups.
Designed for use with standard Weldon-flat toolholders accepting a 3/4-inch shank diameter. Primary workpiece material compatibility includes stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials as specified by material codes M, S, and H in the OSG Series 2055 classification.
This tool is installed by machinists or CNC setup technicians; always confirm spindle power is off and the machine is in an e-stop or locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the Weldon flat shank fully into the toolholder and torque the set screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify tool runout with a dial indicator before initiating the first cut. Do not exceed the rated length of cut of 1-1/2 inches during full-engagement passes.
