The OSG 20553122 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding materials including stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It features a 5/16-inch mill diameter, a 0.03-inch corner radius, and five flutes with a variable helix and variable index geometry. The EXO PVD TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and surface hardness suited for cutting hard and abrasive workpiece materials. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 3/4-inch length of cut, this tool fits standard toolholder setups used in CNC milling operations. It is a single-end, center-cutting design capable of both roughing and finishing passes.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines where tight tolerances and surface finish are required on difficult-to-machine materials. The Series 2055 line targets stainless steel, superalloys such as Inconel and similar nickel-based alloys, and hard materials in the M, S, and H material grade classifications. It is suited for job shops, aerospace component machining, and precision manufacturing environments where tool life in abrasive materials is a priority. The straight cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance fits precision toolholders and collet chucks without modification.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 5/16-inch straight cylindrical shank with h6 shank diameter tolerance. Primary workpiece material classifications are stainless steel (M), superalloys and titanium (S), and hard material (H) per ISO material coding.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the toolholder and spindle are clean and within tolerance before seating the shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping, as excess runout accelerates edge wear on fine-pitch multi-flute carbide tools. Power down and lock out the spindle drive before any tool change operation.
