The OSG 20430300 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. It features a 1/4 inch diameter, a 0.03 inch corner radius, and three right-hand helical flutes with a high helix angle of 45 degrees. The single-end design runs at a coarse pitch with a 1/4 inch length of cut and a 2.5 inch overall length. The bright, uncoated finish makes it well-suited for aluminum, brass, copper, and similar non-ferrous workpiece materials. Machinists and CNC operators install this end mill in standard toolholders for contouring, profiling, and light roughing passes where corner geometry control is critical.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills working primarily with non-ferrous metals. The extended reach configuration, with a 1-1/8 inch reach length and a 0.246 inch neck diameter, allows access to features with clearance constraints. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders accepting 1/4 inch shanks. The center-cutting geometry supports plunge entry where required. It is part of OSG Series 2043 and is suited to job shops, production facilities, and tool rooms machining aluminum-intensive components.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material designation is non-ferrous metal (material code N), including aluminum, brass, and copper alloys.
A qualified machinist or CNC operator should install this end mill in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder, ensuring full shank engagement to the recommended grip depth. Verify spindle runout and toolholder condition before use, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling. Always bring spindle speed and feed rate to zero before changing tooling, and confirm workpiece fixturing is secure. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling manufacturer guidelines for cutting parameters specific to the workpiece material.
