The OSG 20230900 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. With a 0.625-inch cutting diameter, a 0.625-inch length of cut, and a 2-flute spiral geometry at a 30-degree helix angle, this tool delivers efficient chip evacuation and clean side-wall finishes in a wide range of workpiece materials. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the standard orientation for most CNC vertical machining centers and manual knee mills. Centercutting capability allows the tool to plunge directly into the workpiece. This end mill is installed by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators working in job shops, production facilities, and maintenance machining environments.
The OSG 20230900 is suited for slot milling, profile milling, and peripheral cuts in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Its regular-length classification and 3.5-inch overall length make it a practical choice for general-purpose applications where extended reach is not required. The extended reach designation and 1.625-inch reach length provide additional clearance in applications with shallow step-downs or fixtures with limited tool access. The uncoated substrate is appropriate for applications where coolant or cutting fluid is used consistently.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in standard 5/8-inch collets, end mill holders, or hydraulic tool holders on CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills. Part of the OSG Series 2023 product line.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the end mill. Torque the set screw or collet nut according to the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, as excessive runout accelerates carbide chipping and reduces tool life.
