The OSG 20210100 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 0.125-inch cutting diameter, a 0.250-inch length of cut, and a 2-flute spiral geometry at a 30-degree helix angle, this tool delivers sharp, clean cuts in tight-tolerance applications. The stub-length configuration keeps the tool rigid, reducing deflection during aggressive passes. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry directly into the workpiece. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with CNC machining centers, mills, and manual milling equipment will find this a reliable general-purpose end mill for slotting, profiling, and side milling.
The OSG 20210100 is suited for use in production and job-shop environments where small-diameter milling is required. The 0.125-inch shank diameter matches the cutting diameter, making it compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders sized for 1/8-inch tooling. The uncoated carbide substrate is appropriate for use in aluminum, brass, copper, plastics, and soft steels, particularly where cutting fluid or coolant is applied. The Series 2021 designation places this tool within OSG's standard stub-length square end mill lineup.
Designed as an OEM-style general-purpose square end mill for use in standard 1/8-inch collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. Secure the 0.125-inch shank in a properly sized, clean collet or end mill holder and torque to the holder manufacturer's specification before operation. Verify spindle runout with a dial indicator prior to cutting, as excessive runout on small-diameter tooling accelerates wear and increases breakage risk. Confirm workpiece is clamped securely and appropriate speeds and feeds for the workpiece material are dialed in before engaging the cut.
